"In The Footsteps of Roger Revelle" is a unique ocean science education program bringing physical oceanography to students in the classroom from research vessels at sea using Scripps Institution of Oceanography's HiSeasNet satellite communication system. Students will observe at-sea research as carried out by some of the world's leading physical oceanographers from Scripps (SIO), Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Students will also research, design, develop, deploy and field-test their own data-collecting physical oceanography instruments while investigating some of the most provocative questions of our time. . . in the footsteps of some of the world's foremost scientists. |
